How to Photograph Clothing for AI Product Photos
A better source photo gives the Studio more useful information. These simple habits help you show the garment clearly before you ask for a new treatment.
Use even light
Avoid hard shadows and bright windows behind the garment. Soft, even light makes color and texture easier to inspect.
Show the whole garment
Leave space around sleeves, hems and edges. A complete outline helps each treatment understand the shape.
Choose a clear arrangement
Lay the garment flat and smooth, or keep a hanger and mannequin centered. Avoid folds that hide important construction.
Capture the neckline and label
For ghost mannequin work, photograph the inside back of the collar and any label clearly when possible.
Know when to retake
Retake if the garment is cropped, blurred, heavily shadowed, or the print and logo cannot be inspected.
